In 1962, newspaper editor Chow Mo-Wan, set in Hong Kong, moves into a new building with his wife. At the same time, the beautiful secretary Su Li-zhen and her husband move into a crowded building. Because their spouses are often apart, Chow and Li-zhen spend most of their time together as friends. They have everything in common, from noodle shops to martial arts.
