Alien robots come to Earth and claim control over humanity. They claim they just want to observe humanity. They enforce strict external rules. They implant a device in humans to warn sentry to anyone who goes outside and destroy it if they refuse to comply. They also employ humans as supervisors. One of these men is Robin Smythe. He wants Kate Flynn to be her wife, but she still mourns her husband who says Smai is dead. But her son Sean doesn’t believe it. He sends a message to anyone who knows about his father to tell him. One day, he and three young men are playing with him when he discovers that the implant has gone out. Then they go out and someone responds to Sean’s message, telling him where his father is. So he goes to find him. But Smy pursues him and uses his mother as leverage. When the robot drives Shaun into a corner, he can somehow control the robot. So the robot wonders why he can do it.
