Newcomers to the remote Australian desert town of Nathgari, Catherine and Matthew Parker, are put in jeopardy when their two teenage children, Tommy and Lily, mysteriously disappeared just before a huge dust storm. As Nathgari is horribly choked with red dust and darkness, the townsfolk join the search led by local police officer David Rae. It soon becomes clear that something terrible may have happened to Tommy and Lily. Doubts riot, rumors spread, and public opinion turns fiercely against Parker. As temperatures rise and their chances of survival plummet with each passing day, Catherine and Matthew find themselves being pushed to the brink as they struggle to survive the mystery of their children’s fate.
