Sheriff Owens is a man who resigned himself to a life of fighting small crimes in the sleepy border town of Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD position after an outrageous operation that suffered failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from the FBI prisoner convoy, the hemisphere’s most infamous wanted drug lord, along with a ferocious army of hostages and gangs, rushes towards the border at 200 mph in a specially equipped vehicle. He’s heading straight to Somerton Junction, where the entirety of US law enforcement will have one last chance to resist and stop him before he slides across the border forever. Although initially reluctant to participate and dropped from the count due to the incompetence of the small town army, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for the showdown.
